PROJECT
homelibrary wallworkpeople & partnersinformation and resources for mosaic

The City of Takoma has suggested another site. The wall of the library has high visibility. This follows information that the band around the sides and back that we had been considering are not stable and not suitable for mosaic at this time. Arturo is working on sketches (these images are only for location).

The south facing wall is obscured by trees and shadow, but the eastern facing wall provides a nice surface. There is considerable visual clutter around the site that might influence the design.

It would be ideal to also mosaic smaller areas now, outside the library wall, to help pull the many disparate elements together. Hopefully, in the future, the blank flood wall can be converted into a living wall, a grafitti wall for kids, rotating exhibition, or hanging mosaic, that will help transform the area, once structural issues are resolved.
